Tkay Maizda has teamed up with new bestie Lena Dunham, creator of US smash hit Girls, which premiered Tkay Maizda’s track ‘Glorious’ in a recent episode for the final season of the HBO series. Dunham, a fan of the rising Adelaide rap star made a personal request to use an unreleased track.

Girls reached out to my US label asking if we had any unreleased songs for their final ever season as Lena knew who I was and is apparently a fan of mine. They wanted something for a party scene and I have maybe 5-10 songs that are basically finished but didn’t make the cut for my album.

We thought Glorious could fit well so sent them that and the feedback was that Lena loved it and they wanted to use it. I love the show and it’s really crazy that they know me but I’m excited to see the track in there and for people to hear it.” Tkay mentions.

The new track sees Tkay fully embrace her big time pop persona, featuring floating melodic rhymes atop of trap beats, big vocal hooks and stadium-ready horns blasting through the chorus.

Contributing music to one of the most iconic TV shows of her generation is just another incredible milestone in the amazing and still amazingly fresh career of Maidza. It now stands alongside being nominated for Best International Act at the 2016 BET Awards, collaborating on Martin Solveig’s chart-climbing single ‘Do It Right’, and releasing her critically acclaimed debut album TKAY in 2016. She may have only just been a part of the end of Girls, but it’s safe to say things are only warming up for Tkay.
