Grouplove are one of Australia’s favourite indie-pop outfits. Fact. After selling out all three headline shows earlier this year and consistently delivering an out-of-this-world live show, the band’s name couldn’t be more fitting! With their brand new album Big Mess in their back pockets, Grouplove will be spreading their unmistakable brand of infectious joy all over Sydney and Melbourne early next year. Joining the star-studded bill will be NYC’s own Phantogram in Sydney, Tigertown in Melbourne and supporting both shows will be 2016’s biggest breakthrough act Middle Kids.

Joining Grouplove in Sydney is Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel, who make up the super-talented New York electronic rock duo Phantogram. Coming together in 2007, Phantogram’smusic incorporates psychedelic pop vocals, J Dilla-style hip-hop beats, and shoegazing sensibility. Since the success of their breakthrough second album, Voices, the pair have been working the circuit with some of the most notable names in the game; opening for Alt-J at Madison Square Garden, touring with Muse and television appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

After releasing a highly successful EP with Outkast’s Big Boi, under the name Big Grams, the New Yorkers released their third studio album, Three, on October 7. The album subsequently debuted at the #5 spot on the Billboard Top Albums chart, with the album’s latest single, ‘You Don’t Get Me High Anymore’, still charting on the alternative music charts all over the world, as well as currently sitting on high rotation at triple j.  The duo recently employed Australian synth pop duo Miami Horror to put their midas touch on the hit single, which premiered on Earmilk. You can listen to the official remix of ‘You Don’t Get Me High Anymore’ here.

In Melbourne, Sydney indie-pop royalty Tigertown will be on support duties with their latest EP release ‘Papernote’ in hand. Early 2016 saw Tigertown tour the US with their own headline shows, before joining St Lucia’s Tour in February and once again conquering SXSW. The first release from their Lonely Cities EP; ‘Bullet From The Gun’ garnered a debut spin on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, a nod from FADER, and pre-empted the success of the title track which debuted on Good Nights on triple j with an immediate high rotation add. Since then, ‘Lonely Cities’ has garnered over 6 million streams on Spotify making it clear we’re faced with the newest generation of Australian pop.

Joining the impressive international line up at both shows is the local Sydney band on everybody’s lips, Middle Kids. In just a couple of months Middle Kids have started to create some serious momentum for themselves across the world with their home recordings and debut single ‘Edge Of Town’. They’ve recently been crowned the winners of FBi Radio’s Northern Lights competition, which saw them flown to Iceland to perform at Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik alongside PJ HarveyWarpaintBjork and many others. Middle Kids’ latest single, ‘Your Love’, (which was recorded, produced and mixed by the band) premiered via global tastemaker Beats 1 with Zane Lowe. It is their second single and will be on the band’s forthcoming debut EP, due for release later this year.
