Rising Brisbane emcee Mallrat continues her path of nonchalant destruction today, with the release of her latest uber cool single ‘Inside Voices’, as well as announcing the release of her debut EP Uninvited – out July 1 on Create/Control.

Following off the back of the viral smash ‘Sunglasses’ (190K+ plays on Spotify) and her critically adored debut ‘Suicide Blonde’, ‘Inside Voices’ premiered on Tone Deaf yesterday and sees her once again team up with producer/partner in crime Tigerilla, as well as young Melbourne producers Casper Zazz, to create a terminally chill mix, melding heavenly synth chords with bouncy ball beats and Mallrat’s effortless and endearing delivery.

As per her signature style, it was mundane, everyday events that inspired the track’s lyrics, with Mallrat saying the song came to her when, “I went home sick and started writing ‘Inside Voices’ the day that they blocked Spotify on the school wifi.”

Meanwhile Tigerilla continues to sing the young star’s praises, declaring, “Mallrat is part of a new wave. ‘Inside Voices’ is her first instalment from a project that should create a big swell in the industry!”

The single stands as the latest effort to appear on her forthcoming EP, Uninvited, which will drop July 1 and officially announce the arrival of the self-described ‘Hannah Montana of the rap game.’

Having recently played her debut shows opening for her mentor Allday, Mallrat is also now set to take another huge step in her blossoming career by playing on the esteemed Come Together festival line-up, alongside some of Australia’s best hip hop talent, including Drapht, Allday, Tukaand Spit Syndicate.

With backing from taste-makers both locally and internationally, including Pigeons & Planes,Hilly Dilly, Rolling Stone, Tone Deaf, Pilerats, Indie Shuffle, Project U and Purple Sneakers to name but a few, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before everyone’s singing with their inside voices.
