It’s finally here! Tired Lion have released their debut album ‘Dumb Days’.
From Glastonbury to playing in a laundromat, Tired Lion have released the long awaited debut album ‘Dumb Days’.
Many fans are familiar with tracks from the record already, after it was spun as this week’s Triple J Feature Album. Sophie Hopes and Ethan Darnell from the band appeared on station head honcho Richard Kingsmill’s 2017 show this week where they premiered some of those tracks for the very first time and the national youth broadcaster has been giving a lot of love to the likes of ‘Behave,’ ‘Camp,’ ‘Japan,’ ‘Where Were You?’, ‘I’ve Been Trying,’ ‘Hawaiifive0’ and the title track in the days since.
Recorded over four weeks at the beginning of 2017 in Blackbird Studios in their hometown of Perth, Dumb Days is an album about growing up, and it’s safe to say that through all that build up, the band – songwriter and frontwoman Hopes, Matt Tanner (lead guitar), Nick Vasey (bass) and Darnell (drums) – have done a whole lot of growing up.
Produced by Violent Soho frontman Luke Boerdam, along with the band’s long-time collaborator, WA legend and engineer extraordinaire, Dave Parkin, who combined to elevate the band’s capabilities, while also allowing them to discover new sides of themselves as musicians, songwriters and as a band.
Now Dumb Days is done and dusted. Tired Lion, always a scintillating live prospect, are readying to take these songs on the road with a national tour that kicks off tonight at the Woolly Mammoth in Brisbane, before they head on to Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, and back home to Perth.
