Missed out on Splendour tickets? Don’t worry, Splendour’s Official Sideshows of 2022 are finally here and set to roll into venues around the country this July!

This monster pile of tours is the biggest Official Sideshow announcement in the history of Splendour, so be sure to hold your hat as you get your head around this one…

With new single ‘Everything’s Better’ just out and album ‘C’MON YOU KNOW’ dropping on 27 May, Liam Gallagher looks set to build on the success of his 3 previous solo number 1s. It follows the huge success of his three previous studio albums which established his iconic status for a whole new generation. Between his triumphs as a solo artist and his phenomenal success with Oasis, Liam has spent a combined total of almost six months at #1 across eleven chart-topping albums.

With special guests Pond, Hayley Mary and Old Mervs

Ever prolific, Pond boasts an impressive eight studio albums in their ever expanding repertoire. Pond released their new polychromatic music machine 9 on October 1st, 2021 via Spinning Top Records / Secretly Distribution and the record debuted at #6 on the ARIA album chart. On their ninth studio album, the Fremantle five piece recapture an anarchic sense of uncertainty and fly closer than ever before to the creative supernova that has blazed across so much of their music.

Produced by Pond and mixed by Jay Watson and James Ireland, on 9, Pond’s explorations are funnelled into electrifying bursts of pure psych-pop joy. No tune even veers past the five minute mark. Above all though, what you get from 9 is a sense of creative abandon and just plain fun.

Hayley Mary has graced us with a surprise five-track EP, ‘Fall In Love’, and the title track is her catchiest single yet. Co-produced by Hayley and Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy) during Melbourne’s most recent lockdown, ‘Fall In Love’ (the single) is a dirty Motown-esque love song with contemporary lyricism.

A triumphantly uplifting tune that is undeniable to anyone who has ever wanted to fall in love. The other four EP tracks were produced at The Grove by Scott Horscroft and Johnny Took of DMA’S. Sonically it continues the neo-wall-of-sound Mary has become known for since transitioning from front-woman of The Jezabels to fully-fledged solo artist. What differentiates the solo project is how she has developed her voice to be more vulnerable and, perhaps, more herself.

Old Mervs are riding at the peak of a surf-rock renaissance in Western Australia, having sold out a string of huge rooms in 2021 and winning fans across the country with their no-nonsense songwriting and country-lad charm. Best mates since the age of 5, David House (vocals & guitar) and Henry Carrington-Jones (drums) grew up together in Kojonup, a tiny town approximately halfway between Perth and Albany.

They began their journey as Old Mervs as Henry finished high school in 2017, converting an old stable into their first jam space and spending the following years flitting between stints in Wollongong, Perth and various country towns.
