The infectious flair of ‘Everybody Knows’ hits right from the opening chord to create an instant classic. High energy drums propel the song forwards, guitars ring out endlessly and frontman Joe’s vocals ooze casual confidence, whilst the introduction of a choir and brass adds a new dimension to the band’s sound.
Tremolow – the band’s debut album – is due for release over the coming months. ‘Everybody Knows’ offers another insight into the record, with last year’s gloriously catchy ‘Impact’ – an alternative radio staple – being the first. The two songs define a change of sound for The Creases from their memorable first offering, the Gradient EP. Tremolow sees the band a little older, a tiny bit wiser, undeniably more confident and assured, but no less spontaneous, affable or fun. Their music has transitioned into something uniquely identifiable: youthful, great-haired pop n’ roll, underpinned by award-winning songwriting.
Next month, the band will pack their bags for a brief east coast soiree. The tour will see them road-testing new material mixed in with a handful of old favourites. Fans last saw The Creases’ polished live show when they supported Ball Park Music on a huge national tour late last year. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
‘Everybody Knows’ is available from this Friday, January 20.
Tremolow will be released in the coming months.
