After being announced on this year’s Falls Festival lineup and conquering the Valley at Bigsound last week, Triple One continue to ride the wave of success today announcing they are the latest signing to join the Village Sound family.

Unapologetically vicious and volatile, there isn’t another hip-hop group like Triple One. Hailing from the Inner-West of Sydney, Triple One have accumulated a cult following, with signature singles ‘Doozy‘ and ‘Overflow’ surpassing 1 million views on YouTube.

Consisting of two rappers (Marty Large & Obi Ill Terrors), a singer (Lil Dijon) and a producer (Billy Gunns), Triple One blend brash raps with haunting hooks and greyscale production. Their gloomy aesthetic hit its stride with 2016’s widely-acclaimed The Libertine EP, featuring lead single ‘Colours.’

Recently, the group followed it up with their most diverse offering yet in The Naughty Corner EP, spearheaded by sadistic lead single ‘Redline Reaper’ and the daintier ‘Tarlo.’ Switching between hard-headed trap music, pensive electronica and melodic moments with rapid confidence, The Naughty Corner is even more evidence that Triple One are speeding down a lane of their own.

‘Tarlo’ was added to full rotation on triple j, gaining additional praise from FBi Radio, Purple Sneakers, Pilerats, Highsnobiety and more. In June, Triple One were crowned the triple j Unearthed Feature Artist of the Week. Their chaotic, punk-infused performances have resulted in sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne, and this is just the beginning!
